Herd Health Diagnostics is the new home of the BioTracking Testing Lab and the continuation of the legacy of Dr. Garth Sasser, the founder of BioTracking and the BioPRYN technology. Herd Health Diagnostics is dedicated to the same excellence of the original BioTracking Testing Lab. Dr. Sasser’s passion for helping producers and offering exceptional customer service will continue to be the focus of Herd Health Diagnostics.

Located in the Northwest’s beautiful Palouse region, Herd Health Diagnostics calls Pullman, Wash. home. Herd Health Diagnostics offers BioPRYN services; the proven world leader in blood-based pregnancy testing. BioPRYN is a highly accurate, simple to use, and efficient method of pregnancy detection in cattle, bison, goats, sheep, deer, elk, moose, caribou, and antelope.

Herd Health Diagnostics is owned and operated by Amber Merk, a University of Idaho graduate in 09’ with a bachelor’s in animal sciences. Amber had the pleasure of working with BioTracking for 7 years in various roles including lab technician, testing lab manager and technical support and sales. In the last 4 years with BioTracking Amber’s time was spent helping new labs get up and running, performing quality control testing for the BioPRYN Affiliate Lab Network and offering sales support to new customers. 

Amber additionally worked at the Washington State University Dairy Farm throughout college and later the assistant manager for 2 ½ years. Amber’s love and respect for agriculture is reflected through her commitment to quick, accurate, reliable services offered by Herd Health Diagnostics. 

Amber is married to her husband Brandon, also from the Palouse region and together they have two growing, busy and loving kiddos, Boyd and Avery & a sweet pup named JoJo (named by her two-legged brother, Boyd).
