Application

• We need about 2 ccs of blood in a plain red top tube or 1 cc of serum. 

• It is recommended to collect samples from animals who are 9 to 12 months of age or older. It is also recommended to collect at least 6-8 weeks after vaccination, injury, illness or stress.

Schedule, Pricing, and Submission

• The CAE/OPP ELISA is run weekly on Tuesdays from April 1st to November 30th with results the same day. Samples must arrive prior to 2 pm on Monday. December 1st to March 31st, samples are run Tuesday and Fridays. Samples must arrive prior to 2 pm on Monday for Tuesday’s test and prior to 2 pm on Thursday for Friday’s test. Herd Health Diagnostics is closed all major holidays.

• The cost per sample is $4.75

Shipping

• Samples may be shipped through any carrier (USPS, FedEx & UPS) and any method. During the summer months, it is recommended to ship samples on ice. It is also recommended that samples are tested within a couple weeks of being collected, therefore ship accordingly depending on where you live.  Please note that we recommend shipping in a cardboard box and NOT padded envelopes.
